. . . for your first visit to the Elm . . . what you can expect . . .
We are a very informal church. Jeans are the attire of most Sundays for most people; however people wear what they feel appropriate as we have no set dress code. (Although shorts are encouraged come February!)
Our church meets in what used to be a bar, so many of us sit at tables, which enables us to have a place to keep our coffee and to help us take notes from the sermon.
Our "service" starts with worship, as we believe that church should be about Jesus. We spend a good while worshiping in song and praising God for Who He is. In keeping with the informal feel we are always encouraged to make comments, ask and/or answer questions during the sermon.
Our "services" do tend to go a bit long as we end our time together with a praise and prayer time, where we share the things God has done in our lives during the week, and share prayer needs with our church family. No one "has" to stay and people are encouraged to leave when they need to, so as not to keep people too long on a Sunday, unless they choose to stay.
We love having company and realize that our relaxed atmosphere is not for everyone, but please, come and give us a try!
We have Men's & Women's ministries which meet on the first Saturday of each month, usually for breakfast.
